NWC launches SAR 700m wastewater project in South Riyadh
The three-phase project has been completed with a total cost of SAR 700 million.

Riyadh – Mubasher: The National Water Company (NWC) on Sunday announced the launching of a wastewater pipeline from Manfoha treatment plant to the new treatment plant in the south of Riyadh.

The pipeline is one of the most important strategic projects for developing environmental services and achieving environmental balance in Riyadh, according to NWC’s statement.

The three-phase project has been completed with a total cost of SAR 700 million.

The pipeline was installed using the tunnel boring technology for 11,800 kilometres along with normal excavation of 25,200 kilometres.

The project will serve more than one million residents in southern and western Riyadh districts, hitting a 4 million mark by the completion of all wastewater projects which will connect Riyadh to the main wastewater pipeline. 

 Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Mowkley, the CEO of NWC, noted that the new project aims at treating wastewater in Riyadh according to approved standards.
